bakasyon sa Pilipinas ~ part i

aku tak pernah terfikir pun nak ke sana.  from my readings, pada pendapat aku lah kan, takde apa yang menarik kat situ.  lagi pun, ada yang mengatakan tempat tu tak selamat untuk tourist.  even kawan aku si ziah pernah kata "itu negara bermasalah".  betul ke?

some people may feel sceptical about travelling to the Philippines, right?  mula-mula, aku pun fikir macam tu jugak.  tapi bila dah survey kat internet and contact the local people, it seemed that Manila is no different from Kuala Lumpur.  in fact, kita banyak sangat dengar dari media, tanpa mengetahui hal yang sebenarnya.

as we know, there are a few cities in the world yang diklasifikasi kan sebagai 'selamat'.  tapi selamat macam mana pun, risk tetap ada.  so kita ambil pendekatan mudah, apa langkah-langkah yang kita ambil kat tempat kita, kita apply masa berada di negara orang.  simple, isn't it?

anyway, aku tergerak nak ke sana sebab ada air fare promotion from one of the airlines companies.  masa tu, walaupun dah booking tiket, aku takde lah rasa excited nak pergi.  mungkin sebab aku tak tau what to expect kat sana kot...

so last friday we went.

and manila, here we come...

we reached manila early in the morning.  and we had booked an accommodation in the Makati city, which is only 20 minutes away from the airport.  luckily i had arranged for the hotel's car to pick us up.  since it was still early, our room was not ready yet even though i did request for early check-in during reservation.  so we went for breakfast at Bo's Coffee and came back, but it was still not ready until an hour later.

what a relieved when we checked-in into the room.  beautiful, neat, clean and a spacious studio with kitchenette.  we liked it!

the serviced residence is nestled within the building of Glorietta 4, Ayala Center.  everything is within walking distance ~ shopping malls, restaurants & cafes, entertainment, mrt station, etc.  location wise ~ excellent.

bila dah settled down kat bilik, perkara utama ialah berehat dan tidur.  penat weh!  dalam flight tak boleh nak lena betul-betul.  apa lagi, qada' tidur lah.  after 4.30 p.m baru kitaorang keluar jalan-jalan.

itinerary for the first day was visiting Ayala Museum at Greenbelt Park.  sepanjang berjalan ke sana, we did ask about 5 persons for direction to the museum.  malu bertanya sesat jalan wei!  ^_^

we spent about an hour at the museum.  untuk pengetahuan korang, muzium ni tak macam Muzium Negara kita ~ sunyi, kurang menarik dan menakutkan.  ayala museum ni lain ~ cantik dan macam high-end apartment pun ada.  sangat class untuk sebuah muzium.  sorry, takde gambar sebab tak dibenarkan mengambil gambar di dalam muzium.

macam ni punya cantik baru lah rasa bersemangat nak melawat muzium.  kalau ala-ala lemau je, kita pun tak berminat nak pergi.  kan??  anyway, masa kitaorang visit hari tu, nampak kat lobby nya sedang ada persiapan untuk jamuan cocktail.

masa balik, singgah The Landmark beli barang sikit.  lepas tu tapau nasi biryani for dinner dari New Bombay at glorietta 3 food court.  tapi masa nak balik ke ascott kitaorang sesat.  puas cari pintu exit, tapi tak jumpa.  adalah nak dekat 15 minit berpusing-pusing kat dalam mall tu.  mana taknya, Ayala Center tu is a large commercial complex which is conveniently integrated.  kesimpulannya, ia sangatlah besar!

however, the best part was kitaorang tak perlu nak melintas jalanraya untuk pergi dari satu shopping center to another.  how nice!

bersambung...
